1UP.com, part of game magazine and website publisher Ziff Davis Media Game Group's online arm, has announced the nominees for the third annual 1UP Awards. According to the company, gamers can choose their favorite video and PC games of 2005 online at the official voting website, and voting ends December 31, 2005. Winners will be announced online at 1UP.com and in the March issues of Ziff Davis' magazines, which include Electronic Gaming Monthly, Computer Gaming World, and the Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine. The extensive nominee list is fully reprinted on the voting page, but some highlights include Nintendogs, Darwinia and The Movies' nominations for Best Strategy/Simulation title, Call Of Duty 2, Resident Evil 4 and Perfect Dark Zero for Best Shooting title, World Soccer Winning Eleven 8 International, Mario Superstar Baseball and SSX On Tour for Best Sports/Extreme Sports title, and finalists in a mutitude of other genres. Most interestingly, the full Most Innovative Games shortlist for the 1UP awards comprises Infected, Pac-Pix, Kirby: Canvas Curse, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Wario Ware Twisted, Nintendogs, Trauma Center: Under the Knife, Indigo Prophecy, Meteos, The Movies, and Stubbs the Zombie in “Rebel Without a Pulse” The full and voluminous list of nominees for 1UP's Game Of The Year comprises F.E.A.R., Guitar Hero, The Movies, Guild Wars, We Love Katamari, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Indigo Prophecy, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, God of War, Perfect Dark Zero, Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2, Gran Turismo 4, Psychonauts, Civilization IV (PC), Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones, Dead or Alive 4, Soul Calibur 3, Project Gotham Racing 3, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, Shadow of the Colossus, Resident Evil 4, King Kong, and Dragon Quest VIII.
