Amsterdam-based independent developer Streamline Studios has announced that it has opened a new sound studio called Streamline Sound, the first of its kind in the Netherlands focused on both the interactive and traditional entertainment industries. According to Streamline Sound representatives, the studio is also the only studio in the region specifically designed for Dolby Digital 5.1, and offers music and audio creation and recording services. In addition, the team is creating an online music and sound effects database from which clients will be able to select high quality, original content for their projects. Streamline Sound officials also note that the studio is integrated into Streamline Studios’ processes and services, and that its staff is available to work with game developers, animators, artists, video production, and web development teams. The studio is capable of handling everything from Foley and voice-over recording to surround sound mixing, sound design, and full music production, with real-time video post production integration also available. Studio head Tom Pearce, a longtime veteran in the music industry, commented, “I’m looking forward to applying my expertise in the music industry to the videogame, film, and television industries. With Streamline Sound we can now offer our partners a high quality, affordable solution to the ever-rising cost of licensed music through custom music composition and creation.”
