Representatives from Square Enix have announced the company’s third quarter results, showing a net profit of ¥4.1 billion ($38.7m) on sales of ¥21 billion ($198.1m). The company expects a full year net profit of ¥8.1 billion ($76.7m) on ¥56 billion ($530.6m) sales. The company’s best performing franchise in this period has been Full Metal Alchemist, which has sold eight million copies in Japan. Ironically though, the video game element of the brand – as opposed to the various manga and anime produced – has performed only moderately well. Source: The Magic Box
