Furthering the push to make games a greater part of the TV landscape, both MTV Networks's Spike TV and Comcast's G4 have announced new games lineups with a daily-news focused X-Play on G4, and Spike's new weekly GameTrailers TV. Spike's Geoff Keighley-hosted GameTrailers program, run in conjunction with GameTrailers.com, will premiere January 25th, and will provide news, game previews and event coverage, with segments set to cater "to gamers with varying interest levels from the casual gamer to hardcore enthusiasts." Spike digital media and games VP Jon Slusser said the program will merge "our rabid online gaming audience with Spike TV's coveted male 18-34 year-old demo to deliver gaming on a massive scale." For its part, a newly updated X-Play will debut on G4 on January 14th, with an expanded format that will add daily news coverage, interviews and a new "MMO Report" virtual worlds news segment to the current review-based program. Co-hosts Morgan Webb and Adam Sessler will remain at the helm, with Sessler being names the network's games editorial managing editor. Said G4 president Neal Tiles, "Over the past few years, the video game industry has evolved at a rapid pace. The all-new 'X-Play' will provide greater depth of coverage, furthering its role as television's most watched resource for video games."
