Gregory Ballard, former chief executive of bankrupt consumer electronics company Sonicblue, is to take over the reins of mobile phone content provider Sorrent. The company was founded by former Electronic Arts games designer Scott Orr, who will stay on as chairman of the board and director of the company's studio. Ballard is also a member of the board of directors at THQ and games media company IGN. It is not clear whether he will resign from the former, given that THQ has a wireless division of its own.
