Atari has announced that it has hired former SCEA marketing director Jeff Reese as its vice president of marketing, where he will oversee all consumer and retail campaigns for its published and third party output. Atari notes that Reese was "responsible for setting PlayStation's First Party software product marketing roadmap and annual sales targets to deliver on revenue goals," and was responsible for the PlayStation's first Effie marketing award for a new software product launch. Reese was director of marketing when the company won a gold Effie award for the 'Giantology' viral ads leading up to the launch of Sony's Shadow of the Colossus. Prior to SCEA, Reese oversaw brand development, global marketing campaigns, and overall growth strategies for Intel, lauching the company's Centrino technology campaign, and led Pentium 4 PC gaming initiatives. Said Atari CEO and president Jim Wilson, "Jeff brings extraordinary industry and marketing expertise to Atari at one of the company's most exciting times. I am pleased he is joining our leadership team and look forward to his success."
