According to an article in Japanese consumer magazine Famitsu, Sony have now shipped a total of 70 million PlayStation 2 console world-wide, as of 13th January 2004. This breaks down to 16,180,000 units in Asia (since April 2000), 29,260,000 in North America (since October 2000) and 24,560,000 in Europe/ROW (since November 2000).
