SN Systems announced two new products for PlayStation 2 and Gamecube developers. The first tool, Tuner, is a new profiling tool for the PS2. Tuner lets you capture and visualize many aspects of PS2 behavior and browse it so that you can quickly track down and eliminate conflicts and bottlenecks in your code, data paths, interrupts, DMA use, and so on. It also lets you study CPU architecture effects like I-cache and D-cache utilization. It analyzes unmodified release code, so no special build is required for profiling, and it doesn't require any special libraries. SN Systems claims that there is no significant code execution slowdown, either. The second product announced by SN Systems is Devlink for the GameCube. Devlink is a high speed communication tool for game developers using ProDG for Nintendo GameCube, which helps programmers debug their code on the NR-Reader. Devlink can also be used by artists and level designers to download artwork or scene data from a PC to the NR-Reader. For further information on the release date and pricing, contact SN Systems.
