Newsbrief: Sony has today added voice and video chat application Skype functionality to its PS Vita handheld console. The free app allows for Vita-to-Vita voice calling, as well as high-quality video calling that can utilize either of the Vita's cameras. The app can also run in "background mode", allowing users to minimize it and use other games or apps. The addition of this app is the latest move in Sony's bid to sell Vita as both a dedicated gaming device and a full-on multimedia mobile device.
