Sierra Online (Assault Heroes, 3D Ultra Minigolf) has announced that Battlestar Galactica, a space combat game based on the Sci-Fi Channel TV series, will be available via download and retail on October 23rd, and will hit Xbox Live Arcade on the 24th. In the upcoming space action-shooter, players can pilot various ships and complete 10 missions from the TV series in the game's single-player mode, and can play online multiplayer in Domination, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch modes for up to 8 players on XBLA and 16 players in the PC version. The game also features special missiles and guns, and players can also execute a variety of aerial defensive maneuvers. Ahead of the game's launch, special Battlestar Galactica preview clips will appear on the Sci Fi channel's website to promote Battlestar Galactica: Razor, a two-hour episode that will serve as the premiere of the television show's first season. Razor tells the story of Lee Adama's first mission as the commander of the battlestar Pegasus, and the tale of that ship's fight for survival in the immediate aftermath of the Cylon's genocidal siege of the Twelve Colonies. The PC version of the game is expected at retail and online portals at a price of $19.99, with the Xbox Live Arcade version expected at half the cost, 800 Microsoft Points ($10).
