Representatives from Sega of America have announced three new Genesis titles planned to be released soon over the Nintendo Wii's Virtual Console, including the classic fighting game Virtua Fighter 2. In addition to Virtua Fighter 2, Sega also plans to release 1989's Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle and the third game in the Wonder Boy spin off series Wonder Boy in Monster World from 1991. Each of these titles are expected to cost 800 points ($8) per title. These title join previously released Sega Genesis classics, such as the overhead action title Gain Ground, side scrolling brawler Streets of Rage, and cult fourth-wall breaking beat'em-up Comix Zone. “The Wii Shop Channel continues to be a great avenue for gamers who want instant access to classic Sega Genesis titles,” commented Sega of America's VP of marketing Scott A. Steinberg. “Virtua Fighter 2, Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, and Wonder Boy in Monster World, are all great titles that were popular hits in their day and now have a second life via Wii’s Virtual Console.”
