Today's round-up includes news of a new Peanuts-licensed game, SCEA and the Bruce Willis Foundation's charity event, and a new console-to-PC gaming peripheral, as well as the latest GameSetWatch posts, product news and Gamasutra job postings. -Developer Namco Hometek today announced Snoopy vs. the Red Baron, a behind-the-back 3D bi-plane shooter incorporating the Peanuts license. The game is entirely a dream sequence, featuring Snoopy in his famous role as a World War I fighter pilot chasing down the nefarious Red Baron. This is actually the second videogame to chronicle this historic battle; the first was released for the Atari 2600. The game's official website offers no clues as to whether or not the game will finally reveal the physical appearance of the Red Baron who, like the mysterious Red-Headed Girl, remained faceless through the entire duration of Charles Schultz's strip. -On December 10 in Foster City, CA, Sony Computer Entertainment America, along with the not-for-profit Bruce Willis Foundation, raised $100,000 for charities Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity and Save the Children through a "music and gaming festival" called BANDtogether. Celebrities in attendance, including Tony Hawk, Amber Valetta, Nick Stahl, Dave Navarro, Krista Allen and, of course, Bruce Willis himself, competed in three categories; one of which was described as "PlayStation skills," with the winning team contributing the grand prize to the aforementioned charities. -Adaptec today announced the ability of a credit card-sized device called the GameBridge. The device, which very specifically supports the Xbox, PlayStation 2, Gamecube, and Xbox 360, allows a gamer to connect their consoles directly to their PC or notebook computers for what they're describing as "higher quality resolution." Additionally, the device - which connects via a USB 2.0 input - can reportedly record gameplay moments to share over the internet. - New additions to Gamasutra's sister website and game weblog GameSetWatch include an unofficial 2D Halo, a "homebrew" PSP port of Kenta Cho's rRootage, a new discussion about so-called console convergence, and something called 'Clash of the Indie Journalism Heavyweights'. - Also updated today: product news including SN Systems' launch of the SNS DB tool, as well as today's Gamasutra job postings from companies including Blue Fang Games, Crystal Dynamics, Iron Realms Entertainment, Konami Digital Entertainment, Rainbow Studios, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Spacetime Studios and Turbine.
