Today's round-up includes news of the impending release of new content for Bethesda's popular RPG Oblivion, MMO Entropia Universe reaching 500,000 registered users, and tomorrow's debut of Lumines Live on Xbox Live Arcade, as well as the latest Game Career Guide updates, Serious Games Source posts, GameSetWatch posts and Gamasutra job postings. - Bethesda Softworks has announced that it will release its new Knights of the Nine content for the popular PC and Xbox 360 role playing game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion via download and a new retail Windows product. Knights of the Nine will be available through the Xbox Live Marketplace and from the official Oblivion downloads website on November 21. In addition, the retail version of Knights of the Nine will feature a compilation that will include all of the other Oblivion downloadable content released to date: Horse Armor, The Orrery, Wizard’s Tower, Vile Lair, Thieves Den, Mehrunes’ Razor, and Spell Tomes. Finally, the previously announced PlayStation 3 version of Oblivion will also come with this new Knights of the Nine content included. - Representatives from Swedish developer MindArk have announced that the MMORPG Entropia Universe has reached over 500,000 registered users from over 220 countries since its launch in early 2003. The game uses a system based on skills and experience which allows for occupational proficiency in areas ranging from event promotions and store ownership to hunting and mining. Players also have the chance to buy and sell property, become financially successful, and even find a mate in their virtual world. "The growth of Entropia Universe is an enormous achievement for us and the members," commented Jan Welter, CEO of MindArk. "As the world of video games evolves to become more than just a means of two-dimensional entertainment, we are seeing a demand for the integration of real-world features in virtual environments." - Microsoft has confirmed that it will release the much anticipated Lumines Live for its Xbox Live Arcade online service starting tomorrow, October 18, at 0800 GMT (1:00am PDT). The newest game from Tetsuya Mizuguchi and Q Entertainment will feature puzzles, modes, exclusive music videos and full online multiplayer play over Xbox Live. The game also will include an exclusive feature that records high score gameplay in the Time Attack Mode which can be downloaded and played back by any other player. The game will cost 1200 Microsoft Points ($15), while an additional 600 Points ($7.50) will net players an Advance pack that includes 22 additional skins - The latest updates on Gamasutra sister alt.gaming weblog GameSetWatch include news of version 2.1 of Toribash, as well as a a multiplayer promo video named "Freak Fights"; an interview with Mr. Robot co-creator Nick Tipping; and Reflexive Games' casual limericks. - Also updated today: the latest Gamasutra job postings, including openings from Arizona State University, Blue Fang Games, Electronic Arts Tiburon, Heavy Iron Studios, Iron Lore Entertainment, Nihilistic Software, THQ, Vigil Games, and Warner Bros. Entertainment.
