Take-Two publishing label Rockstar Games has announced that it plans to bring the previously PSP exclusive Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories to the PlayStation 2. The game is currently scheduled to ship on March 6 in North America, and on March 9 in Europe. Rockstar officials note that the PlayStation 2 version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories will include the same storyline and missions found in the PSP original, which centered on a narrative set two years prior to the original Vice City, and starred Vic Vance, the brother of Vice City's lead Lance Vance. Developed by Rockstar Leeds in conjunction with series creators Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories was released for the PSP in October 2006, and has since proven to be one of the most popular titles for the handheld. Today's news hardly comes as a surprise, given that Rockstar's previous GTA effort for the PSP, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, was also successfully ported to the PlayStation 2 as well. Today's announcement comes following yesterday's announcement of Manhunt 2, which is in development by the newly formed Rockstar London studio and Rockstar Toronto for the PSP, PlayStation 2, and Wii.
