Regal Entertainment Group CEO Mike Campbell has announced that the company – the US’s largest movie theatre circuit – is banning any video game from its lobby that contains graphical violence, obscenity or sexual behavior. The company claims the move is due to complaints from parents, although it has refused to name any of the titles involved. The move is certainly curious since it is difficult to think of any recent arcade games with sexual ‘behavior’ in them and indeed even graphically violent games are relatively rare compared to several years ago.
