Quazal has launched new versions of its network middleware toolkits designed to add multiplayer support to games. Net-Z 3.5 is designed for traditional multiplayer games (2–32 players), while Etema is designed for massively multiplayer games. The technology is freely available to hobbyist and independent developers, and licensed to companies that will be publishing their games. Enhancements to both middleware tools include greater security checks, as well as expanded Remote Method Call (RMC) features. The Windows versions are shipping now, while console versions will be available by mid-December.
