Quazal, an independent provider of online multiplayer components for PC and console games, has introduced a new version of Quazal Net-Z, the game state engine that powers Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory's cooperative mode, and Quazal Rendez-Vous, a lobby and matchmaking service. Both Net-Z and Rendez-Vous now add uPnP support on top of their NAT traversal capabilities, letting users with very strict routers join the games. The new Rendez-Vous 2.0 adds numerous features, such as an IRC-style chat system for social interaction in the game lobby, CD-key validation to control software piracy, automatic type extension to allow full database control with just a few lines of code, and a package system to enable easy cross-game deployment of custom features. Quazal provides a complete service level agreement with Rendez-Vous 2.0, with guaranteed server uptime, and responsive technical support directly from the development team, according to the company's statement.
