German-headquartered engine company Trinigy have announced a multiplatform licensing deal with UK and United States-based strategy game firm Firefly Studios (Stronghold, CivCity: Rome) to use its Vision Engine in an un-named upcoming title. The engine, which has been previously licensed by companies publishing or developing through Atari, Take 2, NeoWiz, and Threewave, last announced licensees at Game Developers Conference 2007. At that time, it was revealed that studios in Mexico (Creaciones Interactivas S.A.), Russia (Synergy Way) and France (Exkee Sarl) are creating PC & console games based on the Vision Engine, and a multi-title agreement has been signed with Berlin-based game development studio exozet games. "We are delighted with the Vision Engine and with the excellent support we are receiving from Trinigy", explains Simon Bradbury, Founder and Director of Firefly Studios. "Vision does not only provide an impressive set of out-of-the-box features, but also possesses the flexible architecture necessary to create an ambitious multiplatform Next-Gen title we have in our pipeline". According to the firms, more details regarding Firefly's upcoming game using the Vision Engine will be announced soon.
