Video game QA outsourcing firm Gameshastra has announced that it has launched a new facility in India that will focus on providing full range of game development, game art/animation and QA services for multiple platforms. The 25k square feet facility located in Hyderabad was inaugurated by Brian Ward, senior vice president of Activision's Worldwide Studios, who commented that the installation is “an important step for complementing game publishers' strategy to partner with highly talented game services providers in order to meet increasing demand for new products and features.” Gameshastra itself has been involved in game testing and related services for over two years, and according to company officials the company has in this time handled the testing of numerous games for leading publishers and development houses globally. Gameshastra plans to reach a company-wide headcount of over 1000+ people in the next 18 months. According to Gameshastra director Mohan Bhupatiraju, who is responsible for the operations infrastructure and facility management, the company's newest facility is fully certified, and partners necessary testing and debugging tools with experts with real world experience with game consoles, including the Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3. “Game Publishers continuously publish and bring new experiences within the game industry, taking players to a whole new level of play,” commented Prakash Ahuja, Gameshastra CEO. “Gameshastra's high quality game services capability and state of the art infrastructure in Hyderabad will enable both the performance and flexibility that is critical to meet a game publishers rising creative challenges and first-to-market demands.” In addition, the outsourcing firm also opened a new facility called “Console Game Zone”, aimed at video game enthusiasts in India. The initiative, located at Gameshastra's main facility in BanjaraHills, Hyderabad, will showcase leading game consoles together with the latest games, with visitors to the facility getting to try out many of these games first hand.
