Poole, Dorset UK-based independent software developer Indiepath announced that is has released a new version of its video game delivery software, igLoader. The company noted that the new release includes several new security and streaming features, as well as the fact that igLoader has been reviewed by IANA and awarded its own MIME type. IgLoader's newly added features include archive streaming, including the ability to stream content whilst the game is running; a fully functional patching system to ensure all installs are up to date and well maintained; a more secure sandbox environment for protection of client machines; a more robust DRM; and full integration into the eXigo session play API. igLoader provides developers with a way to create web games using existing code; it offers a content on demand solution, a 'Pay per Play' enabler and a significant advertising platform. The addition of these new features make the igLoader software more capable to be considered the backbone of web-based content delivery solutions. With this in mind, Indiepath also announced that eXigo, which is due for launch shortly, is expected to offer a web-based video game distribution and payment solution that Indiepath notes will rival competing solutions.
