Swedish software vendor Hansoft has announced that the latest version of its self-titled project management software has been released, and that it is being used by Sega owned studio The Creative Assembly Australia (Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms). Sharing the same name as the company, Hansoft is used for managing tasks and collaboration on a day by day basis by programmers, artists, project managers and producers. The software’s latest release, version 5.0, introduces a bug tracking tool that is designed to “help integrate the QA process closer with development.” Hansoft officials add that the addition also makes possible real-time integration with other bug databases and systems. The software is most often used by executives for portfolio management and by clients and outsourcing partners to be closely involved in the production without having access to its all parts. “Hansoft transformed our diligent game development team from a group that worked a lot of overtime to make a deadline, to a professional outfit that finished world class software ahead of schedule,” says Ashley Parker, Senior Producer, The Creative Assembly International. Hansoft managing director Patric Palm added: “We are very passionate about production management practices and there is big money in shipping better games faster. Working with The Creative Assembly Australia has been very exiting since they are truly leading the way, bringing project management and collaboration to new levels. By using Hansoft they will benefit from a new breed of tools that are not only blistering fast and intuitive, but also features truly innovative and unique functionality.”
