Oregon3D Inc. announced it is introducing Maya classes to its core curriculum of training at its facility in Portland, Oregon. Starting August 26, Oregon3D's learning facility will offer its first Maya class, a five-day "Maya Basics" course. The Maya Basics course will teach the following:

  • Navigation and customization of the Maya user interface

    • Modeling concepts in NURBS and polygons

    • Keyframing, reactive, and dynamic animation techniques

    • Basic character rigging (joints, IK handles, and various animation constraints)

    • Exploration of the hypershade for creating scene materials

    • Creation of advanced node networks

    • Lighting, cameras, and rendering Maya Basics will take place August 26-30 and the company is offering a introductory special of $1,300 for the class. After that, the class will cost $1,600.
