Nintendo DS sales saw a significant boost this week, strengthening the platform's lead on the Japanese hardware sales charts. For the week ended September 19, the Nintendo DS line sold 85,770 units, more than double the 39,749 units it sold last week, reports tracking firm Media Create. The DSi received the most significant sales jump, with 47,379 units sold, compared to last week's 16,345 units. The sales spike correlates with the release of Nintendo's Pokemon Black/White, which sold a combined 2.5 million copies in its launch week. The Xbox 360 also saw a boost in sales, coinciding with the launch of Halo: Reach; the console sold 5,804 units, roughly a 3000 unit increase from last week. Sales of other platforms remained consistent from last week, leaving the overall platform rankings largely unchanged. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended September 19, 2010. (The second chart lumps together sales of all models in a given line of hardware.)
