Officials from Nintendo of Europe have announced that Australian actress Nicole Kidman will front the advertising campaign for More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain?, with a pan-European campaign replacing endorsements for the original game from local celebrities in each country. The Oscar winning actress, known for starring roles in movies such as The Hours and Moulin Rouge, will appear in both print and television advertising in Europe, promoting a sixty day brain exercise program for More Brain Training, which launches across Europe on the Nintendo DS on June 29th. The game is due for release in North America on August 20th, as Brain Age 2: More Training in Minutes a Day. The television advertisements will begin this week, with Kidman seen at home using the console and playing the various mini-games. Nintendo of Europe claim that Kidman was chosen for the campaign because of her “universal appeal to mainstream audiences of all ages and backgrounds, as well as her reputation for being intelligent, entertaining and genuine.” Sales for both Brain Training games combined have already exceeded 10 million units worldwide and have proven to be the most successful of Nintendo’s Touch! Generations range of non-traditional games and self-improvement titles. The original game has proven to be particularly successful in Europe, more closely mirroring its success in Japan than the North American release. Kidman commented: “I love the concept that Nintendo is reaching out to new audiences with their self improvement products like Brain Training. Most importantly, I’ve quickly found that training my brain is a great way to keep my mind feeling young.”
