[UPDATED: 2:00pm PST] Today's regularly updated newsbriefs include an MI6 Game Marketing Conference keynote by Burger King marketing mastermind Russell Klein, Super Rub'a'Dub splashing on European PS3's, an upcoming expansion to Heroes of Might & Magic V. - Officials representing the non-profit Association of Electronic Interactive Marketers (AEIM) have announced that Russell Klein, Burger King Corporation president of global marketing, strategy & innovation, will deliver a keynote address at the upcoming MI6 Game Marketing Conference, set to take place May 8-9, 2007 in San Francisco. Klein was an instrumental figure in the recent Burger King-related promotional Xbox 360/Xbox advergames, launched on November 19, 2006 and sold through the North American fast food chain. Klein will join EA's William “Bing” Gordon, Microsoft's Peter Moore and Nintendo's George Harrison, as well as others. Moore will discuss the future of the gaming industry during a blue ribbon session that includes Gordon and other soon-to-be-announced panelists, and Harrison will take participants through the successful marketing strategies behind the launch of Wii. - European PlayStation 3 owners have received new PlayStation Store content ahead of the rest of the world in the form of Super Rub'a'Dub, Sony's original Sixaxis-bathtub-tilting rubber duck collecting game, developed by Sumo Digital. Much in the same vein as Super Monkey Ball, Rub'a'Dub requires players to tilt a tub to collect baby-duckie-filled bubbles and lead them in formation to an exit point, all while avoiding dangerous wind-up sharks. A five-level demo of the game is freely available now, while the 60 level full version will run €4.99 or £3.49 ($6.80). - Officials from Ubisoft has announced the development of Heroes of Might & Magic V: Tribes of the East, an upcoming PC expansion to Nival Interactive's turn-based strategy game Heroes of Might & Magic V. Scheduled for a fall release, the stand alone game will support the core game, but not require it for play. Key additions to be introduced by the upcoming title include a new faction, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic's Orcs, as well as a new campaign, new content, and a new alternative level upgrade for every creature in the game. - Nintendo has released three “new” games for download over the Wii's Virtual Console in Europe. Purchasable from the Wii's online Wii Shop Channel, the region's Wii owners are able to purchase Sega Genesis classic Sonic Spinball for 800 Wii Points (€8). In addition, the service is also adding two more Genesis classics with Sega's action RPG Story of Thor, released in the U.S. as Beyond Oasis, and Vectorman, both for 800 Wii Points (€8) as well.
