Emergent Game Technologies announced several today new licensees for their Gamebryo and Gamebryo LightSpeed engines for the development of casual and downloadable games.

Emergent Game Technologies, the company behind the multiplatform Gamebryo and Gamebryo LightSpeed engines, announced today new licensing deals with partners developing casual and downloadable titles. Six new studios have licensed the company’s technology for titles spanning a variety of platforms. Fire Hose Games plans to use the engine for Slam Bolt Scrappers for digital download, Manifest is developing Busy Scissors for Wii, Virtual Air Guitar Company is developing Kung-Fu LIVE for PSN, and Zivix will release Jam Party for PSN. In addition, Tornado Studios and Perpetual FX are working on unannounced downloadable titles using Emergent's technology. Several major console and PC titles, such as Fallout 3 and Civilization IV, used modified versions of the Gamebryo engine, and Emergent Game Technologies hopes to expand its breadth of licensees with casual and downloadable game studios. “Emergent is pleased that our technologies and flexible licensing model are helping studios meet the extremely short production cycles and scaled budgets of downloadable titles without compromising the features or gameplay,” said Katie Morgan, vice president of sales and marketing at Emergent. “The diverse and growing list of studios using our tech for digital titles, on all platforms, illustrates the flexibility and optimized abilities of Gamebryo and LightSpeed for creating casual and digitally downloadable titles.”
