New Execs For Square Enix North American Team

Square Enix’s hired a new senior VP of sales and marketing and a new director of biz development at its North American office, in a shake-up of the executive team aimed at expanding the publisher’s business in the U.S. and with local developers.

Square Enix’s hired a new senior VP of sales and marketing and a new director of biz development at its North American office, in a shake-up of the executive team aimed at expanding the publisher’s business in the U.S. and with local developers. Ron Scott will take on the sales and marketing role and will be responsible for the day-to-day sales and marketing operations at Square Enix, Inc. His appointment follows stints as executive vice president of worldwide publishing for Activision and, most recently, as senior vice president of worldwide sales and distribution for Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. David Hoffman will carry out the business development role and is charged specifically with expanding partnerships with development studios in North America. His previous roles include executive producer at Conspiracy Entertainment and senior producer at THQ on franchises including WWE Wrestling, MTV Extreme Sports, and Bass Anglers Sportsman Society Fishing. John Yamamoto, president and CEO of Square Enix, Inc. commented: "I have great confidence in both Ron and David's ability to propel Square Enix forward in the ever-growing North American market. We are committed to meeting the needs of our customers and business partners and these new additions to our team will provide the invaluable expertise necessary to achieve greater success in the market."
