Mystic Game Development, a developer of realtime character animation middleware, announced that it has been developing EMotion FX 3, a new next generation multi-processor character animation SDK, for the last 18 months. EMotion FX 3 will be commercially available on March 20th. Features in the new version of Emotion FX include realtime motion retargeting, integration with 3D Studio Max and Maya using new plugins, multi-processor and multi-core support, facial animation and automatic lipsync generation, Inverse Kinematics and Lookat controllers, character customization down to per-bone level, over 50 API programming examples, and tutorial-style documentation as well an API reference. "EMotion FX 3 is a major new product for us and is the result of our recent development efforts" said Mystic founder and development director John van der Burg. "The EMotion FX product has been meeting the character animation needs of game developers since 2001. Our clients are driving the changes that we make to the EMotion FX product range. They wanted next generation performance and memory efficiency as well as clear focus on reducing the artist effort required to delivering high quality next-gen character content in their games. EMotion FX 3 delivers this and more."
