Motion Analysis Corp. announced today at the Game Developers Conference the release of Solver 6.0, the newest version of its high-end motion retargeting tool for motion-capture data. Solver 6.0 works with ExpertVision 3D and Real-Time 3D systems, Motion Analysis's turn-key full-body motion capture systems. Solver aims to help animators retarget mocap data to adjust different proportions between actors and CG characters. Solver applies mocap data to a fixed bone-length skeleton, compensating for local motion-capture marker movements and solving for the difference in the actor's and the CG character's proportions of up to 30 percent Solver can also be used to generate soft-tissue movements such as muscle, skin, and clothing. Solver 6.0 is available now with pricing information available from Motion Analysis. It requires ExpertVision 3D 6.0 or Real-Time 3D 3.0.
