MOTEK and Kaydara are working together to make MOTEK's StockMoves library of motion data available in FBX, Kaydara's 3D interchange format. The FBX format provides a centralized working file format for content creators wishing to acquire, author, and re-purpose 3D data. MOTEK says the purpose of combining StockMoves with the Kaydara FiLMBOX suite of character mapping tools is to provide animators with a simple pipeline for acquiring, authoring, and re-targeting animation and character data. MOTEK's StockMoves is a very large library of motion-capture data. Through the FBX file format, animators using FiLMBOX will have access to the more than two terabytes of motion-capture sequences that make up StockMoves. MOTEK's StockMoves will be available in FBX format starting third quarter of 2001.
