The organizers of Game Developers Conference, which holds its next iteration in San Francisco next March, have announced that, after 5 years working on Game Developer and the Game Developers Conference events, Jamil Moledina is leaving Think Services (Gamasutra's parent company) to pursue other interests. According to the announcement, as an 8-year veteran of the GDC organization, Meggan Scavio will continue as Event Director of Game Developers Conference. Scavio looks to further enhance the GDC’s relationship with the developer community. She will continue to do so through continuing conference liaison work with key industry leaders on the GDC Advisory Board, via direct dialogue with developers and GDC alumni, and by tapping into her deep event management experience. Finally, the statement comments of Moledina, who was Executive Director, GDC Events: "Jamil made the GDC his passion, and took on the art form that is games as his personal cause. The organization thanks him for his significant contributions to the Game Group and Think Services, and wishes him, as a friend of GDC, all possible success."
