VeriSign, provider of "intelligent infrastructure for the networked world", today announced its partnership with JoWooD Productions Software AG, to deliver a number of JoWooD's video games to mobile devices. The JoWooD game concepts to be launched this fall have never appeared in the mobile marketplace - it's unclear which titles will appear, but the European publisher JoWood is noted for RPG titles including the Gothic and SpellForce series. VeriSign, which is much better known for its domain registration services, but has had holdings in mobile games for some time, will transform these computer and online video games into a Java application for various mobile devices in the market place. "We are looking forward to the cooperation with one of the leading companies in the sector of digital commerce and communication," says Albert Seidl, CEO of JoWooD. "We are confident that JoWooD, in combination with Verisign, will strike new paths in the mobile games industry. This transatlantic exchange and synergy of know-how are the basis for further innovations."
