Vivendi Games Mobile’s SWAT Force won Best Wireless Game at the 4th annual Spike TV Video Game Awards among a field of stiff competition that included Super KO Boxing, Diner Dash, and Tower Bloxx. SWAT Force, based on the PC franchise of the same name, puts gamers in control of a two man SWAT team. Across seven missions gamers hack computer terminals, defuse bombs, pick locks, and of course subdue or eliminate numerous terrorists, hostage-takers, and robbers. The game garnered numerous accolades from the enthusiast press in 2006, including a Mobie Award nomination from CNET Networks Games & Entertainment and an IGN Editor's Choice Award. "I can't think of a better way for Vivendi Games Mobile to celebrate its successful entry into the business," Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile said in a statement. "The quality of our games is being recognized across our entire slate of titles, but to receive this special acknowledgement for SWAT is indeed an honor. We look forward to building the SWAT franchise and evolving the title to deliver an even better game for mobile devices worldwide."
