Publisher Sony BMG have revealed the new modes planned for its forthcoming Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved Mobile, many of which are brand new to the franchise popularized by its Xbox Live Arcade iteration. In addition to the standard "Evolved Mobile" game mode, an Immortal mode has been added, to allow new players to become accustom to the game. Acting essentially as a practice mode, players are invincible, but don't gain multipliers or score either. Several challenge modes have also been added, including 'Untouchable,' in which players have one life, and no bombs or guns, and are timed to see how long they can survive, and survivor, where the player's mission is to get as high a score as possible, with just one life. The game also includes 'monster,' a mode with the scoring multiplier always at 10x, where players try to score as much as possible with the game consistently at its most frantic, 'trenches,' with movement disabled, and a goal of trying to get a high score while being permanently stuck in the center of the screen. Players can also select the 'speed' mode, to try and be the fastest to earn scores of 100k, 250k, 500k, 750k, 1M, 2M and 4 million points, or 'multiplier' mode, to try and be the fastest to reach multipliers of 5x and 10x. Finally, the game includes 'feline' and 'bomber' modes, where players try and be the fastest to earn 5 and 9 lives or bombs, respectively. More information on Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved Mobile is available in Gamasutra's recent Q&A with Bizarre Creations' community And web lead Ben Ward.
