Midway Officially Exits Coin-op
Midway has officially announced its long anticipated decision to halt its coin-op game development efforts.

The company cited continuing decline in the arcade market as well as a desire to focus its efforts on home games for next generation console platforms. Closing the coin-op business will result in layoffs of close to 60 employees and a pre-tax charge of $8 million.
