Chicago-based Midway Games has announced plans to open a new internal development studio in Austin, Texas. They are now actively recruiting for the studio, which they plan to open in the near future. Midway already operates development studios in Chicago, Illinois; San Diego, California and Seattle, Washington. This news comes hot on the heels of a statement from Viacom CEO Sumner Redstone to the Securities and Exchange Commission, disclosing Viacom's interest in a potential acquisition of, or licensing partnership with Midway. Currently, Redstone personally owns a majority share (around 73.6 percent) of Midway Games stock.
