Microsoft today announced a new retail program for Europe called Best of Classics, which follows the company's three year old Xbox Classics range that feature best-selling Xbox titles priced at £19.99 ($37). The new program singles out titles and offers them for the even lower price of £9.99 ($18). This follows a similar program launched in North America in March 2006 called the Best of Platinum Hits, which saw the price of several popular Xbox titles including Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Project Gotham Racing 2, and MechAssault lowered to $9.99. In total, sixteen games were included in the new European program. The Best of Classics range will feature new packaging featuring the original game artwork surrounded by red Best of Classics branding, and will include some of the same titles included in the Best of Platinum Hits line, such as Project Gotham Racing 2 and Counter-Strike. In addition, it will include newer titles such as Halo 2 and Fable: The Lost Chapters, as well as a trio of games starring Crash Bandicoot, including Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex, Crash Twinsanity, and Crash Nitro Kart, according to online reports.
