Microsoft and Bungie have announced that the Legendary Map Pack, which adds three new maps for Halo 3’s multiplayer, is to be released on April 15th. The new maps are Ghost Town, Avalanche, and one map yet to be revealed. Also included are new Forge options, allowing fans “new ways to create and share their custom Halo 3 content.” The new pack follows the original Heroic map pack released in December. Ghost Town is a mid-sized map set in the “battle-scarred maze of narrow passages and dangerous ruins outside the once-prosperous city of Voi” and intended for Team Slayer games and objective led modes. The map features collapsed ceilings, shell-battered buildings with catwalks and stairways allowing “dizzying rooftop battles.” The second map, Avalanche, is a tribute to Sidewinder, a “Halo: Combat Evolved fan-favorite”. The map is a large vehicle-oriented objective map with new interiors and exteriors and new vehicle variants, including the Hornet. The third map to be included in the Legendary Pack has yet to be announced, but Bungie have promised that it is “another returning classic” that is a “smaller Slayer map”.
