Following on the success of its 'E3: Bringing It Home' promotion, which saw a number of E3 Xbox 360 highlights as well as a free week’s Gold membership made available over Xbox Live during the week of E3 in May, Microsoft today announced plans for a similar online event for the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2006 and Microsoft-specific X06 event in Barcelona, Spain. Beginning this Wednesday, September 20, through Friday, September 29, Xbox 360 users will be able to download content from both events, including highlights from both press briefings, daily updates and behind the scenes videos from the show floors. Microsoft will also release playable demos and videos in high definition. The company notes that most of this will only be available until 12:00 a.m. PDT on September 29, however. In total, more than 100 pieces of new downloadable content will be released over the nine day period. While the list of playable demos to be released remains unknown, Microsoft has indicated that new videos expected to be made available include Call of Duty 3, Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, Forza Motorsport 2, Kayne & Lynch, Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom, Need for Speed Carbon, Project Sylpheed, Shrek 3, and Viva Piñata. Other as yet unannounced videos will also be released to the Xbox Live Marketplace as well during this promotion. In addition, Microsoft will also debut a new a Xbox Live Arcade title launch each week, from what it notes as “a never before announced major franchise.” The company will also release new picture packs and themes for forthcoming titles including Alan Wake, Fable 2, Mass Effect and Forza 2. A free picture pack will also be released, as well as an exclusive scene from the upcoming Battlestar Galactica season premiere for those users in the US only.
