A press release today from Microsoft (in which the company rather preposterously describes itself as having “global leadership in the games industry”) has announced Yoshihiro Maruyama as General Manager of the Xbox division at Microsoft Japan. Maruyama most recently served as Senior Vice President and COO of Squaresoft and will add some much needed gravitas to Microsoft’s Japanese team.
