New Guildford, UK studio Media Molecule, founded in January of this year by industry vets Alex Evans, Mark Healey, Dave Smith and Kareem Ettouney have announced an exclusive partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to create an unannounced title for PlayStation 3. The four developers, whose combined experience includes work on such titles as Dungeon Keeper, Theme Park, Black & White, Live for Speed and Fable, found themselves most recently celebrated for their combined effort, Rag Doll Kung Fu, notable as the first third party title to be available through Steam, and nominated for two Develop awards. Citing a special relationship and ideal partner with SCEE, who clearly appreciate the team's idiosyncratic style, and that the publisher "has the vision to see that a smaller outfit can create a world class game," technical director Alex Evans claims that after only 6 months of development the team is creating "something very special for PS3." Said SCEE vice president Michael Denny, "We were immediately struck by Media Molecule's ambitions for what a next-gen title could be. Innovation is the key to our shared vision and everyone here at SCEE is highly impressed by Media Molecule's ability to deliver on that vision. We're excited to have extended our partnership on an exclusive basis and look forward to presenting the game publicly in due course."
