Matsushita to Launch GameCube Based Entertainment Center
Matsushita announced on Thursday it plans to launch a hybrid version of <a href="http://www.nintendo.com/">Nintendo</a> GameCube video game machine in Japan.

The electronics maker said it plans to launch the product, which combines digital audio visual and video game functions including DVD playback, in the United States some time in the 2002/03 business year. The hybrid machine will enable users to play CDs, video CDs and DVDs as well as GameCube games. Matsushita is scheduled to exhibit a prototype of the hybrid game console at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
