The UK market continues to suffer a puzzling lack of new releases, a trend that is all the more peculiar in what is traditionally the busiest period of the year, after Christmas. Even so there is only one new release this week in the top ten and the upwards movement of older titles like Sonic Heroes and The Simpsons: Hit & Run is the only real evidence of the Easter break’s passing. In fact rather than being dominated by child friendly titles, as is usually the case at this time of year, the top ten is actually overrun by sports games, with three soccer titles and an impressively high entry for Acclaim’s first ever rugby title – which has received positive reviews for what is normally a difficult sport to portray in video game form.
