Kinect sold 26,000 units in Japan during its launch weekend of November 20 and 21 according to figures released by Japanese video game software and hardware tracking firm Media Create, who described the launch as a "quiet start" for the hardware. As 1UP noted, the figure includes stand-alone units as well as those bundled with a console. The tracking firm compared Kinect sales to those of its rival, PlayStation Move, stating that Kinect sold "about half" of what Sony's motion controller achieved during its October debut. The relatively poor performance of Microsoft's hardware may be linked to its steeper price. Japanese Move bundles start at 5100 yen (approximately $60.89) compared to 14,800 yen ($176.70) for Kinect units. None of Kinect's launch games broke into the Japanese Top 20 chart for the week, Media Create revealing that DanceMasters was the best-selling title in the line-up, shifting 6,000 copies, placing it in 24th in Media Create's top 50. Import site AndriaSang also noted that Kinect Sports debuted at 45. Crossboard 7, New Brain Training and Sonic Free Riders did not feature in the top 50. By way of comparison, during PlayStation Move's launch week, four Move games featured in the the top 20 with combined sales of well over 50,000 copies.
