Kaydara is giving it venerable Filmbox animation system a new life and a new name: MotionBuilder. Motion Builder expands Filmbox’s animation credentials by adding a completely new drag-and-drop user interface, performance enhancements, and completely new tools New features include automatic character rigging and motion retargeting allowing animators to use diverse motion data a unified animation environment, Kaydara's Voice Reality phoneme-extraction real-time lip synchronization tool, real-time display for instant feedback without frame rate or resolution limits, and a drag-and-drop contextual user interface. MotionBuilder 4 also natively supports Kaydara's FBX file interchange format, allowing exchange 3D assets and media from a wide variety of sources including Maya, Max, and Softimage files. MotionBuilder 4 ship in August 2002 with versions for Windows NT/2000, Mac OS X, and Red Hat Linux. Pricing starts at $3,495.
