Game Hihyou, a Japanese video game magazine, has released the results of a survey of Tokyo Game Show attendees. The survey polled developers attending the event, the largest game conference in Japan, on their opinions of the show and the direction of the industry, and hobbyist video game site Game Science translated the results. The survey covered a number of categories, but the most interesting result was the disparity between answers to the question "What next generation console are you most looking forward to?" When speaking in their roles as developers, the respondents listed the PlayStation 3 as #1, with 50% of the vote, after which the Xbox 360 received 25% and Nintendo's Revolution got 20%. However, when speaking of their own personal interest, respondents favored the Xbox 360 with 45% of the total; the Revolution got 25% and the PlayStation 3 got 20%. Other questions included "What developer was most impressive at the show?" (43% of respondents selected Bandai Namco, followed by a strong showing from Microsoft at 31%, Square Enix at 16%, and then Sony at 7%) and "Which title grabbed your attention the most?" (48% chose Rogue Galaxy, Level 5's upcoming PS2 RPG, followed by the Xbox 360 title Ridge Racer 6 with 21%, Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts II at 13%, another Square Enix game, Code Age Commanders at 8%, and PC MMO Ragnarok Online 2 at 5%). On an industry level, the unspecified number of respondents believed online games would trump mobile phone games by a ratio of 60% to 35%, and the vast majority -- 90% of those polled -- believed that the reorganization and restructuring of the Japanese game industry would continue.
