Japanese Hardware: PSP, DS Lead Charts

The Sony PSP and Nintendo DS once again led hardware sales on Media Create's Japanese sales charts for the week ended March 14, the tracking firm said last week.

The Sony PSP and Nintendo DS once again led hardware sales on Media Create's Japanese sales charts for the week ended March 14, the tracking firm said last week. Sales of the PSP dropped to 40,316 from 66,083 a week prior, but were still high enough to capture the top sales slot overall. PSP-3000 sold 39,125 units during the week, also placing the hardware in the top slot in individual hardware platform rankings. Sales of the UMD-less PSP Go were 1,191 for the week, down from 1,275 a week prior. The DS line of hardware, which includes the DSi, DSi LL and DS Lite, sold a total of 39,105 units for the week, down from 42,944 units the week prior. Individually, the DSi LL sold 21,604 units, the DSi 13,581 and the DS Lite 3,920. Below are the full sales rankings from Media Create for the week ended March 14, 2010.
