Pokemon Platinum has returned to the top of the weekly Japanese sales charts, after being knocked down to number two last week by Namco Bandai’s Super Robot Wars Z on PlayStation 2. The director’s cut of Pokemon Diamond/Pearl on Nintendo DS sold 122,000 units this week, for a lifetime total in Japan of over 1.5 million units. The game still has no confirmed Western release date. The highest new entry of the week, at number two, is Koei’s Shin Sangoku Musou 5 Special for the PS2. The game is a port of what is known in the West as Dynasty Warriors 6, with a small number of new features and stages. With the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions having been out since late last year the new PS2 version sold 110,000 units on its debut – relatively low for Koei’s flagship series. The second highest new entry is also a PS2 title – one of three in the top ten. Baseball sim Jikkyou Powerful Major League 3 from Konami is a localized version of U.S. release MLB Power Pros 2008. The PlayStation 2 version sold 18,000 units at number six, while the Wii version entered that charts at number 28. The remaining two new entries in the top 10 are both from Harvest Moon publisher Marvelous, with anime license To LoveRu Trouble at number seven selling 16,000 units. The Nintendo DS version did not chart in the top 30 at all. Marvelous’ Ikki Tousen: Eloquent Fist is also an anime tie-in for the PSP, with the new action game debuting at number eight with 15,000 units sold.
