Sales have recovered only slightly in the Japanese sales chart this week, as the market continues to undergo a period of low demand. The top-selling game is Capcom’s Sengoku Basara: Battle Heroes on PSP, with a first week total of 86,000 units. The game is a portable spin-off from what was known in the West as Devil Kings, although only the first game in the series has ever been released outside Japan. New at number two is what will be known in the West as Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Wii. The more niche title from Odin Sphere developer Vanillaware sold 29,000 units on its debut - almost all of its initial allocation. In the rest of the chart though the unit sales figures rapidly decline, with the tenth placed Wii Fit selling only a four digit amount. The only other new entry is AQ Interactive’s arcade conversion of 2D fighter Arcana Heart 2 on PlayStation 2, with 11,000 units sold. In the rest of the top 30 the highest new entry is new Nintendo DS edutainment software Zaidanhoujin Nippon Kanji Nouryoku Kentei Kyoukai Kounin: Kanken DS 3 Deluxe from publisher Rocket at number 16. The only other new entry is CyberFront’s anime tie-in Shinseiki Evangelion: Koutetsu no Girlfriend Tokubetsu-Hen Portable on the PSP, at number 27.
