ISFE Appoints Electronic Arts Exec As Chairman

Officials representing the Interactive Software Federation of Europe (ISFE) have announced the appointment of Jens Uwe Intat, the senior vice president of EA Europe, as the organization's new chairman of the board. The appointment came following an election on May 31, and will see the EA executive replacing former chairman, Sony Europe's John Brunning. ISFE represents the interests of the interactive software sector throughout the 27 EU Member States plus Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. ISFE also runs the region's Pan-European Game Information (PEGI) voluntary content rating system for video games. The organization's membership includes representation from several prominent industry executives, including Disney Interactive's Thierry Braille, Georges Fornay of Sony, Microsoft's Richard Teversham, and Matthew Hill from Nintendo. “I’m very much looking forward to working with the new chairman,” commented ISFE secretary general Patrice Chazerand. “His strong leadership will help drive our industry priorities at a time when interactive entertainment is being fully recognised by policy makers as mainstream entertainment, and as the fastest growing media sector today.”
